Provided structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for a new 3,000 square foot addition to the Coburn Free Library is located in Owego, New York. Design included a new three story elevator, all new HVAC, new electrical service, and a new ABA/ADA bathroom. HVAC included a new dedicated high efficiency rooftop unit (gas heat, R-410A refrigerant) to provide proper heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to the entire space separate of the main library. The electrical design included upgrading the existing service to meet the demand of the new addition space as well as lighting design. Illumination calculations were provided to ensure efficient lighting conditions in the new space following IBC requirements. All designs presented had to be approved by the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).
